When desire knocked...

It was just another day. Maybe for everyone else…but for me it was a special day. I was content that this was not only my special day but there is someone I can share it with. i woke up late when I heard a knock at my door. I asked (reluctant to get up), "who is this?" A soft and sweet voice replied, "Desire". I jumped up excitedly and ran towards the door. I opened the door and saw nothing. I rubbed my eyes and closed the door. I went back to my room. Hours passed idly.
It was noon. I was reading when my phone started ringing. I saw an unknown no. and received expecting to hear a known voice.
"Hello"
"Who is this?"
A sweet voice said "Desire" and hung up. I kept staring at my phone for about 10 minutes. Suddenly, my vision was blurred and I felt a salty drop of water had accumulated at the corner of my lips. I rushed to the wash-basin and splashed water onto my face.
I was sitting beside the window looking at the people passing by. It was 8 p.m. I thought I must study now I opened my book. I started reading. I was unable to concentrate. The door-bell rang. I was irritated this time. I knew that desire was waiting for me outside but I chose not to open the door. I was unhappy. But who cares?
At around 11.30 p.m. when I was just about to switch off my phone it rang for the final time. I picked up and asked, "What do you want from me? Why are you disturbing me like this?" The reply was stern yet the voice sweet, "it was you who wanted me and I am waiting for you outside". I said, "My desire is in my closet, tightly locked in there. And there isn't any room for anymore." I hung up.

I realized that this was just another day. I have spent many such days. It's not special for anyone else other than me. And hence, it cannot be a special day.
